CFMoto 250SR Race edition spotted; a worthy rival to KTM RC 200?
New CFMoto 250SR Race edition spotted in China
- Sports orange and blue color scheme
- India launch details not known yet
CFMoto’s quarter-liter faired motorcycle, the 250SR, has been spotted adorning a new race livery in China. This striking combination of an orange and blue paint job is different from the blue-colored Race edition that was revealed in March this year. The design and specifications of the bike look quite enticing and if CFMoto plans to bring it to India, the 250SR will go head-on against the KTM RC 200.
The 250SR boasts an angry-looking front fascia with a sharp snout flanked by a twin-pod LED headlamp. The fairing is dominated by angular lines that blend nicely with the muscular fuel tank and an upswept tail section. Moreover, the dynamic orange and blue livery make it quite a head-turner. Despite the aggressive styling, the ergonomics of the 250SR aren’t as committed as the RC 200. It is also impressive feature-wise incorporating a color TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity.
Clinging onto its tubular steel frame is a 249.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 27.5bhp of maximum power at 9,750rpm and 22Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox. Damping duties are handled by KYB-sourced units including golden 37mm upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. Stopping power comes from a 292mm single disc at the front and a 220mm single disc at the rear.
While CFMoto is unlikely to bring the 250SR to the Indian market anytime soon, rumors are rife that it will instead bring the bigger 300SR here that looks almost identical. The latter will compete against the KTM RC 390 and the TVS Apache RR310.
