Jawa 500cc adventure-touring motorcycle revealed!

- Jawa RVM 500 adventure-tourer makes debuts

- Powered by 471cc parallel-twin engine

- Unlikely to be launched in India

The images of a Jawa branded scrambler created quite a stir on the interweb recently. And now, an adventure-touring motorcycle called the Jawa RVM 500 has been revealed. And just like the scrambler, this motorcycle is based on a Bristol model- the Venturi 500 to be precise.

It sports a typical ADV styling with a ‘beak’, large fuel tank and windscreen, and split-seats that look well cushioned. The Jawa RVM 500 also sports a crash guard, sump guard, and knuckle guards as well as a tail rack as standard equipment. In our opinion, the styling seems like a combination of the Benelli TRK 502 and BMW G310 GS.

The adventure-touring motorcycle is powered by a 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine similar to the Jawa scrambler. This engine is capable of churning out 47bhp at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 43Nm at 6,500rpm. As for hardware, the Jawa RVM 500 rides on spoke wheels; 18-inch front and 16-inch rear, shod with dual-sport tires sourced from Metzeler.

Suspension is handled by upside-down forks up front and a mono-shock at the rear whereas braking is done by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS. Other features include a semi-digital instrument cluster and USB charging as standard.

Now, it is important to note that the Jawa RVM 500 has no connection to the Mahindra-owned Jawa Motorcycles that retail the Jawa, Forty-Two, and Perak in India. It is instead under the brand of the original Jawa from the Czech Republic. The company seems to have a deal with Bristol, a Philippines-based bike manufacturer for its latest models. Hence, it is unlikely that this adventure-touring motorcycle will be launched in our country anytime soon.
